     Persephone is excited for her visit to her mother, so she didn’t get a wink of sleep that night. Hades drops Persephone off at her mother’s, where she uncovers a massive, rocky egg. Worried that Demeter may take it, Persephone asks Hades to come identify it and take care of it. Persephone trips and it latches onto Hades’s back, so Hades takes it home. Persephone resumes her visit to her mother as usual, and after eight months in the land of the living, she heads home with Hades. As they were crossing the Acheron, or the river of pain, Hades felt a sensation he had never felt before.
